The General Attorney (Kejagung) Considers Ahok’s Action Violating Blasphemious Section
Muslimtoday.net – After examining the accused blasphemy of Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, the Attorney General (Kejagung) will refer the lawsuit to the court. According to the Attorney General analysis, Ahok is impeached under section 156 a of the Criminal Code (KUHP) for his blasphemious speech in front of Kepulauan Seribu residents defaming Qur’an Surah Al-Maidah verse 51 as a means of decepting muslim community to not vote for non-Muslim leaders.
“The examined fact depicts the action is prosecuted under section 156 and 156 (a) of the Criminal Code (KUHP)” stated by Jampidum Noor Rachmad in the press conference in his office, Jalan Sultan Hasanuddin, South Jakarta, Wednesday, 30 November 2016.
Section 156 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) declared:
Whosoever deliberately, in public, expressing feeling of hostility, hatred, or contempt against a group or some groups of Indonesians, is about to sentence imprisonment with a maximum four years or in charge for four thousand and five hundred rupiah in maximum. The word of group in this section and that will appear in the following sections is meant to every single citizens of Indonesia who is different with other part or some parts in terms of ethnicity, dwelling, religion, settlement, origin, descent, nationality or social position in accordance with the constitutional law.
While section 156 a declared:
“By a maximum imprisonment of five years shall be punished for whosoever in public deliberately expresses their feelings or engages in actions that:
a. in principle is hostile and considered as abuse or defamation of a religion embraced in Indonesia;
b. has the intention that a person should not practice any religion at all that is based on belief in Almighty God.
Based on the Attorney General the lawsuit relating to this issue has been accomplished.
“Therefore, our team works day and night to complete and manage the case. Officially the lawsuit has P21 or formally and materially ready”. Noor Rachmad said
Until present time, this issue is still a growing concern for the society of Indonesia at large. Many demand the government to processed Ahok’s blasphemy since it has been since the first rally “411” on November 4, 2016 the prosecution seemed remain perplex. The Muslim Community and sympathizer will actively ask the government regarding to the clarity of the case.
